Accra Community School has been recognised by the Global School Alliance for its outstanding commitment to providing students with a global perspective, and has been awarded the prestigious Bronze Level Global School Award in March 2025.
The Global School Awards are a supportive and motivational framework that guides schools through their international work. With three certified levels of recognition, the programme takes schools from introducing international work to the curriculum to embedding it within the school’s culture and wider ethos.
At ACS, a global outlook is part of everyday school life. Our Model United Nations delegates debate world issues at conferences abroad, from Izmir to MUN Europe in Madrid. Our students performed Ghanaian and Lebanese dance at the Culture Fusion Festival of Expo 2023 Doha, and school trips have taken them to France, Qatar, Spain, Türkiye and Lebanon. Our bilingual Arabic and English education, culture days and national celebrations bring the world into our classrooms every day.
John Rolfe MBE, Community & Partnerships Manager at the Global School Alliance, said: “We are proud to work with Accra Community School and are delighted to recognise their outstanding commitment to building and developing an international approach. International work is core to a school in bringing the world into classrooms and support for wider school improvement and developing globally aware and empowered learners.”
Supporting and celebrating the global dimensions of teaching and learning are at the heart of the Global School Alliance, so that all students can gain the skills, knowledge and experiences needed for living and working in today’s globalised and interdependent world.
